Prior to surgery, thorough explanations were given both verbally and in writing as to what I should expect, both in terms of the surgery and what to expect during healing. The day of surgery follow up care was discussed in detail and was also put in writing. The special touch of a caring card was included in the materials. Over the next two days, phone calls were made to my home to check on how I was doing. Two weeks later when the stitches were removed, again everything was thoroughly explained and in writing as to what the coming weeks would entail.
